We Asked Our Employees . . .

We recently revived the Allgeier, Martin and Associates’ employee newsletter. The most recent version, The Tangent, first published in 1998. In the first edition, co-founder, Kent Martin, remarked over the first 45 years of the company's existence, “modernization of equipment for surveys and computerization have been some of the most notable changes.”

We decided to ask the same question of our current employees when launching AM Memo this year!

Employees who have been at Allgeier, Martin from a range of 41 to 8 years answered the question, "What would you say is a significant change in the company since you've been here?" They replied:

The detail of drawings. What we used to do in ten or twelve drawings, now there's twenty or more showing the same thing. You have to show the detail of exactly what you want, or it won't get done that way. The drawings look better but it takes a lot of time to do.

The company's presentation has improved. Awareness and consistency in branding and communication has led to greater development in that area.

The personnel. The different generations are working together with different mindsets and they're creating new solutions within the company and their assigned projects.

The remote offices. Ten years ago, it was just the Joplin and Rolla offices. Now there are five different locations. We've been growing and it's not likely that we're done.

Ongoing Modernization. Modernization is what we're aiming for and it's a continuous process that will never end.

Emma is a Marketing Coordinator for Allgeier, Martin and Associates. As part of the marketing team, Emma writes an internal employee newsletter, assists in proposal development, and administers the company’s client relationship management system. She also has created and executes a social media strategy.
